Thursdays (and Fridays!) at the Theater Presents: Clean Comedy on October 19

Please come to hear an evening of standup Clean Comedy at the Willow Glen Little Theater Friday October 19th from 7pm-8pm. Tickets $7 Adults, $6 Students, $25 Family. The Willow Glen Little Theater is located at 2101 Cottle Avenue, San Jose.

Here is the line-up of Comedians:

Jeff Applebaum: Originally from New York, Jeff moved to the Bay Area 17 years ago after receiving two electrical engineering degrees from MIT.He built a successful career in the hi-tech world, along with several businesses, then began pursuing his dream of being a standup comedian. Jeff was cast by Sandy Hackett, the late Buddy Hackett’s son, to play the principal role of Joey Bishop in the long-running musical tribute “The Rat Pack Is Back,” and is credited and appears in the blockbuster film “The Pursuit of Happyness,” starring Will Smith. Jeff recently made his national TV debut on CBS as a comedian on the “Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson.”

Kellen Erskine: Kellen Erskine works with the top talent in the industry, recently including Norm Macdonald (SNL), and John Heffron (winner of NBC’s Last Comic Standing.) Kellen was a finalist in the 2007 San Francisco International Comedy Competition.

Grant Lyon: Though barely an adult, Grant has been around. He grew up in Los Angeles, moved to Chicago, came back to Sacramento, and ended up in Santa Cruz. Moving forced him to be outgoing and make friends easily, and now those experiences help him make friends with every audience. He discovered stand-up while playing collegiate soccer at UC Santa Cruz, and unfortunately for his soccer coach, the passion of his life changed.

Stephanie Stidham: Stephanie is a 23 year old hair stylist by day and Jenga enthusiast by night. She is an amateur comedian, a lover of long walks on the beach, and cupcakes. This is her first time performing at The Little Theater and hopes to swindle some big laughs.

Charley Guptill: Charley is a sophomore at Willow Glen High school and thinks all classes should be taught by watching movies: “Exponents: The Movie!,” Starring Lindsay Lohan as the troublesome imaginary number “i”.

Josh Applebaum: Josh Applebaum is a thriving 6th grader – poised to surpass his father. He’s active on a year round swim team, plays the piano and trumpet, and studies and speaks both the Chinese and Hebrew languages. He’s inherited his father’s A.D.D. as well.

Olivia Dickerson: Olivia is a freshman at Branham High School . She likes bright colors and is trying to get Thursdays to be declared National Holidays.

Thursdays and Fridays at the Theater is a monthly, family-friendly entertaintainment series brought to you by the Willow Glen Middle and High Performing Arts Boosters. Proceeds benefit performing arts programs at both schools.

The curtain has gone up for the Willow Glen Music Boosters. “Thursdays and Fridays at the Theater” has begun.

The theater series was founded in 2004 by a small group of Willow Glen parents led by Rick Guptill and Linda Eaman.

The series was designed to serve two purposes–as a fundraiser for Willow Glen Middle and High schools’ music departments and as a community outreach program.
