LOS POBRES is a hard hitting 11 piece latin jazz band made up of ex and current SJSU Latin Jazz Ensemble members — 2 vocalists, 3 horns, 4 percussionists, bass, and piano. Our mambos are cookin’ and our cha cha chas esta suave y funky! We’ve made our way through various dance clubs, bars, restaurants, private events, and parties in the San Jose/Bay Area, performing music from Tito Puente, Eddie Palmieri, Mongo Santamaria, Poncho Sanchez, etc, as well as some originals, spiced up versions of jazz standards and our rendition of Roxanne, by the Police. Baila!!
